CLASS EXPECTATIONS / SYLLABUS: Señor Stewart 2013-2014
Welcome to the wonderful world of Spanish! Spanish is one of the most beautiful languages that exists and also happens to be the third most spoken language in the world. This class is designed to give you the necessary skills to not only excel in this class, but to also be successful in your future Spanish classes at HBHS and beyond. This class will be a very enriching experience for students, but it is crucial to have a positive and appropriate attitude in order to fully reach the goals of the class. The main goal is for students to master the skills of this level of Spanish as stipulated by the National and State Standards for Foreign Language Learning and HBUHSD guidelines. It is very important that students study and complete assignments every single night of the week. This course is performance based which means you will be quizzed or tested at least once a week. Some of these assessments may be in the form of pop quizzes. If you follow my simple system and do what is asked of you, then you will enjoy the benefits of your hard work. My ultimate goal as your teacher is to provide you with the necessary skills in Spanish to be successful at the high school and college levels. Students have a unique opportunity to acquire a base in Spanish that will eventually allow them to become fluent in the language. Below I have listed some information to orient you with how grades are earned along with some simple rules and class policies that all students are required to adhere to. Parents, my preferred form of communication is over the phone. Please feel free to call me regarding your student at anytime at (714) 536-2514 ext. 4344.
