1. Overall objectives of the course

At the end of the course the students will be able to:

  1. Define the basic concepts in link with computer tools
  2. Describe the various components of the computer and their utility
  3. Specify principal computer programs
  4. Describe the functionalities of the MS Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel)
  5. Use MS Word 2007, MS Excel 2007 in their different class activities
  6. Use Internet to search information and to communicate

  • Knowing basics of a Computer (Definition of terms, Parts of a computer, different applications used)
  • Treat text using MS Word 2007
  • Enter, Computer and Analyze Data using MS Excel 2007
  • Make presentations using MS PowerPoint 2007

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Use the basic application programs (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint).
  • Save the file on portable and non-portable storage devices.
  • Create an e-mail address account and exchange e-mails.
  • Use search engines.
  • Use Moodle as a Content Management System.
