Course description:
- The intention of this course is to bring awareness to the threats of attack or intrusion on one’s personal self or property and how to prevent such incidents. During the course learners will first access their individual security situation. Second, they will determine a plan of action to prevent intrusions of their homes or personal attack.
Requirements (e.g., technology, prerequisite skills, text book):
- The requirements for this course are simply the motivation to arm oneself with the knowledge necessary to prevent becoming a victim of personal attack or home intrusion.
Learning outcomes:
- Learners will be able to identify ways to minimize or prevent personal attack.
- Learners will be able to identify how to access vulnerable areas around their home.
- Learners will be able to create a plan of action for home security.
- Learners will be able to implement their home security plan of action.

- United States of America Department of State Guidelines
- Electronic Security Association (ESA)
Policies (e.g., academic honesty, grading)
- There is no need for policies regarding academic honesty because this course is a free self-help course.
- Although there will be assessments to help the learner remember the content there is no formal grading system.

- There is no submission of work to the course planner/instructor.
- The pacing is self-pace.
