Attendance Policy and Withdrawal Information:

Students are expected to attend class regularly, to arrive on time, and to stay for the entire scheduled class session. Failure to do so will have a negative effect on the student's final grade. Each absence after two will lower a student's grade by 1/2 a letter. In cases of unavoidable absences or lateness, students are encouraged to provide a doctors note and to contact the instructor with an explanation by e-mail. Please note that students will be eligible for teacher-initiated withdrawal before mid-term if they are absent three times. Five absences will result in a failing grade. Extensions on assignments will be granted only for medical reasons with a Doctor’s note. If a student simply stops attending a class, they will receive a failing grade, by withdrawing from a class, a student avoids negatively affecting their Grade Point Average.
