Now it's time to start designing the surface of your organization's original Web site. For this project, you need to draft 2 composites of your client's web site design based on the thumbnails you created previously.
These composites will bridge the thumbnails to the finished visual design reference that you will begin working on next.
If you are going to create your composites on paper, be neat and professional, suitable for presentation to a client. If you produce your composites on the computer, here are some recommendations. Remember that with Photoshop, older versions are often sufficient for Web design purposes.
- The GNU Image Manipulation Program (The GIMP) http://http://www.gimp.org/ (Win, Mac, Linux)
- GIMPShop http://www.gimpshop.net (Win, Mac, Linux)
- Pixelmator http://www.pixelmator.com Links to an external site. (Mac)
- Adobe Photoshop http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/main.html Links to an external site. (Win, Mac)
- Adobe Photoshop Elements http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/main.html Links to an external site. (Win, Mac)
You must submit your comps as JPGs. If you'd like, you may post your comps to your blog and submit the URL for that post here instead of uploading them.
